Notices

All service notices are posted here.

Mar 23 - Host1 is back online.

Mar 23 - The web host server host1 is currently unavailable due to a network failure at our provider. This is unrelated to the datacenter sunset. This only affects those set up on the host1 web hosting server. We will keep you updated here as our provider updates us.

Mar 12 - Important Notice for web hosting users! Our provider has suddenly informed us that they will be sunsetting the datacenter where our web hosting is located at the end of this month. We are currently looking for a transparent solution, however, you should back up your web space to be safe.

Mar 12 - Just a reminder that we do not force deliver our helpdesk mail past your filters anymore due to many requests to be able to use filters and forwarding with our support mail. This means that you can delete our replies with your filters. We do reply, so if you are not receiving responses, check your filters and make sure you are not delivering our replies to /dev/null. You can also add a filter to the beginning of your filters list to deliver our helpdesk mail (they do operate in the order listed).

Mar 4 - We are looking for a few of our more technical subscribers to become early adopters of our new mail service CodaMail.com. Cotse will eventually be merged into this service, so you must use your Cotse account, which must first be enabled for you by helpdesk. So send an email request and we will let you know what to do.

New features include drastically improved performace, device adaptable webmail, full encryption at rest, better filtering, the ability for you to control zero access encryption any way you choose, TOTP 2fa, out of office and vacation autoreplies, the ability to fetch your Cotse mail as well as other mail, and far more. If interested, please contact helpdesk for details.

Mar 4 - We have completed our upgrades and fully addressed issues that caused our data loss. Backend services have been upgraded in preparation for merging Cotse into a new mail service we have been developing. The mail will be briefly down for about an hour while we reimage the core.

Mar 2 - During the weekend Cotse mail will be periodically unavailable for maintenance. These periods should be very brief, not longer than reboots in most cases. If you find the service unavailable, just try again, chances are it will be back.

Phishing: We are a constant target of phishing e-mail. We will never send you formatted e-mail, we only send plain text. We do not send links for you to click. Do not follow links or click things in emails. Manually come to our website and check notices, to make a payment, etc. As always, email helpdesk if you have questions.

Reminder: Because we are a privacy service, we do not back up your personal e-mail. This means that when you delete it, it is irretreivably gone. It is not floating around in some backup that can be retrieved from us against your will. However, it also means you must download and save your important mail, if you delete it, or we suffer a data failure, we do what we can with recovery tools, but we most likely cannot restore it.

For optimum privacy with the service use a pop3s mail app and set it to delete the mail from the server after retrieval. We also recommend that your local mail store be an encrypted volume. Once your mail is removed from the server by your mail app, we no longer have a copy, no mail backups and we are deliberately not with a large cloud service, instead opting to keep everything in-house, for the same reason. This puts you in full control of your mail and its privacy. When you delete it, it can't be retrieved and there is no record of it being there.
